Six hospitals in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, have been offering online diagnosis and treatment for COVID-19 since Dec 13.
The Wuxi Mental Health Center provides online psychological counseling as well as diagnosis and treatment.
Another five (Wuxi People's Hospital, Wuxi Second People's Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University, Wuxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Wuxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital) are capable of writing prescriptions for medicines treating COVID-19 and delivering the medicines to patients.
"Seeing doctors online can help prevent cross infection," said an employee of the Wuxi Municipal Health Commission.

The Wuxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has launched an online TCM clinic for COVID-19. It will have at least two doctors available at the same time every day.
The hospital has also opened an onsite TCM clinic for COVID-19 prevention, which offers prescriptions to prevent COVID-19 infection and food therapy to help improve physical constitution.
The Wuxi Second People's Hospital has 18 specialist physicians available for online diagnosis and treatment and ensures there is a doctor offering consultations 24 hours a day, according to Yu Feijia, head of the hospital's information department.
People can see a doctor for COVID-19 online by logging onto the Lingxi (灵锡) app or via the official WeChat accounts of the hospitals.
In addition, all 40 fever clinics and 114 medical institutions in the city have launched a 24-hour hotline to offer services including health assessments, psychological counseling, and medicine delivery.
