The launch ceremony of the 2022 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Mainstream Media Wuxi Tour was held on Dec 19.
Representatives from over 10 media outlets in the Greater Bay Area, along with more than 40 journalists from 30 media organizations, participated in the event before embarking on their city tour of Wuxi.

At the ceremony, media representatives received the honorary title of "Wuxi City Recommendation Officer". In the following five-day city tour, they are to focus on Wuxi's great achievements and new practices in its modernization to tell more Wuxi stories to audiences at home and abroad.
During this tour, media representatives explored a number of city sites including industrial parks, innovation bases and characteristic villages, experiencing Wuxi's achievements in industrial innovation, digital economy, livable environment, and cultural tourism, as well as other aspects of life.

Wuxi is a city full of rich culture and economic vitality. On the first stage of its tour, the media delegation was wowed by Wuxi's ambitions for digital economy after visiting Xuelang town, which is home to dozens of industrial internet platforms and enterprises where thousands of digital innovation application scenarios have been born. Meanwhile, the slow-paced life of Yuxi Academy and its lovely local community provided another perspective when looking into Wuxi.

Wuxi and the Greater Bay Area have seen increased exchanges and cooperation in sci-tech resources and talents in recent years. The Wuxi Shenzhen-Hong Kong Co-Innovation Center was established last year and the Wuxi Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Collaborative Innovation Center was inaugurated in Zhuhai in November this year.

Wuxi has strengthened scientific research cooperation with a number of higher education institutions in the Greater Bay Area, including the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The establishment of nine "science and innovation enclave" platforms between two regions helped accelerate the industrialization of a number of major sci-tech achievements in Wuxi in areas such as AI, biological engineering, and new materials.
Wuxi has introduced a set of policies and services for talent attraction. The first Integrated Circuit Entrepreneurship Competition between the Yangtze River Delta and the Greater Bay Area was launched this year to discover more talents. The Wuxi-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base provides full cycle incubation services for young people from Wuxi, Hong Kong and Macao in the fields of sci-tech innovation, talent training, and cultural exchange.
Wuxi will continue to work with the Greater Bay Area's leading enterprises, universities and institutes to build labs, innovation centers and R&D centers, so as to realize the integrated development of production and research. Wuxi will make joint efforts with the Greater Bay Area in sci-tech innovation and industrial chain upgrading, leveraging the advantages of the Greater Bay Area's scientific infrastructure to build a global sci-tech innovation hub.
