The second session of the 15th Wuxi Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) commenced on Jan 8 at the Wuxi Great Hall of the People, local media outlets reported.

The three-day session, which runs from Jan 8 to 10, is being attended by 382 members. They are set to review and summarize the work of the 15th CPPCC Wuxi Municipal Committee in 2022 and discuss work to be carried out by the CPPCC Wuxi Municipal Committee concerning tasks assigned by the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee.
In addition, they will attend the second session of the 17th Wuxi Municipal People's Congress as non-voting delegates and consult and discuss the government work report, among other reports, and the city's economic and social development plan.

Xiang Xuelong, chairman of the 15th CPPCC Wuxi Municipal Committee, reviewed the committee's work over the past year.
Under the leadership of the Wuxi municipal Party committee, the CPPCC Wuxi committee focused on unity and democracy and made significant contributions to local economic development and maintaining social stability over the past year.
Xiang added that under the guidance of the central, provincial, and municipal governments, the CPPCC Wuxi committee will continue to play an important role in political consulting and help transform Wuxi into a strong and prosperous city featuring high-quality development.
