A delegation from Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province visited Hong Kong universities from Feb 20 to 22 to seek innovation cooperation.
The Wuxi delegation expects to make Hong Kong the city's research and development base, while carrying out production in Wuxi.
They visited the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and City University of Hong Kong.
Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi, said that Wuxi is looking forward to carrying out exchanges and cooperation with HKU and will strengthen cooperation with the university in scientific innovation, talent cultivation, and people-to-people exchanges.

Du also expressed hope that HKUST will enhance cooperation with Wuxi in academic discussions, student cultivation, innovation and entrepreneurship competition, as well as in the construction of think tanks consisting of overseas experts.
The Party secretary praised CityU for treating its campuses as centers of innovation. He also expects to improve cooperation mechanisms and expand cooperation fields with CityU, and bring more high-quality resources and projects to Wuxi.
During the three-day visit, the Wuxi Economic Development District inked an intended cooperation agreement with HKUST and Binhu district, Wuxi signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Physical Science of CityU. In addition, the Wuxi Hong Kong Collaborative Innovation Center at HKUST was unveiled and the Taihu Lake Scholarship at CityU was established.
