The first session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference opened on March 4 in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and will be closed on March 11.
Four members of the CPPCC National Committee from Wuxi, Jiangsu province, brought their proposals to the annual conference.
Lu Min, vice-mayor of Wuxi, submitted two proposals focusing on the elderly and children. She is very concerned about the construction of elderly care service talent teams and suggested drawing up a special plan for the development of elderly care service talent.
Hu Zhen, a researcher at the China Ship Scientific Research Center, researched the development of technology and equipment in the deep sea before participating in the conference. Hu suggested that China establish a national laboratory for deep-sea technology and improve the application and industrialization system for deep-sea equipment.
Ye Cong, deputy director of the China Ship Scientific Research Center, said that he would learn from his fellow CPPCC National Committee members and bring the advice, concerns, opinions and expectations of researchers at home and abroad to the CPPCC and perform his duties conscientiously.
Qian Gang, president of CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group Co Ltd, prepared a proposal on the national apprenticeship system with Chinese characteristics. Qian hopes that the country will formulate an implementation plan for apprenticeship with Chinese characteristics to develop replicable content and methods. He also expects the country to roll out measures to support participants of the modern apprenticeship system.
