The opening ceremony for international industrial investment and cooperation activities was held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on March 22.
Representatives from 60 foreign-invested businesses, over 130 Jiangsu enterprises, and foreign chambers of commerce in China attended the ceremony.

Wang Hui, vice-governor of Jiangsu, said that the activity serves as a new platform for Jiangsu enterprises and world-renowned multinational corporations and that the province will create a better business environment and open up more to the outside world to become an attractive and competitive investment destination.
After a briefing on Wuxi's economic and industrial development, Mayor Zhao Jianjun noted that the city is stepping up efforts to become an industrial and commercial city and modern logistics hub and become more attractive to foreign investors.

He pledged that Wuxi will provide the most efficient services and strongest support for local businesses and entrepreneurial teams.
At the launch ceremony, the Wuxi National High-tech District and Taicang High-tech Industrial Development Zone signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Foreign Exchange Committee of China Asian Economic Development Association and German Agency for International Cooperation respectively.
Organized by the Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, Wuxi Municipal Government, and the International Cooperation Center of the Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, the activities are expected to promote industrial investment in biological medicine, energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as new energy.
