A total of 393 businesses in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province are set to attend the 133rd China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, which will be held in Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5.
These enterprises plan to set up 719 booths, including 278 special ones, in 47 exhibition zones at the fair to showcase their large-scale mechanical equipment, textiles and garments, and home supplies.

Among these exhibitors, Wuxi Pinnacle Mechanical Equipment Co Ltd, a private company dedicated to manufacturing and exporting small construction machines and diesel generating sets, immediately signed up for the fair in hopes of securing more orders during the event.
"About 20 clients will visit our booth and we are looking forward to expanding more markets, especially the Southeast Asian and Middle East markets, during the fair," said Li Weifeng, general manager of Wuxi Pinnacle, adding that they are expected to reach orders worth $500,000 to $600,000.
The Canton Fair has been held twice annually since 1957. It is estimated that more than 30,000 Chinese and overseas enterprises will take part in the trade fair this year, and participating Chinese companies include more than 5,000 leading manufacturing and high-tech enterprises.
Since this year, Wuxi authorities have encouraged local enterprises to secure orders around the world. As of now, about 300 local businesses have attended trade shows in other countries.
