Construction of the Yangtze River Delta Beidou Spatial Information and Digital Industry Demonstration Park started on April 25 in Liangxi Science City, Liangxi district, Wuxi.
Established by Liangxi Science City, Liangxi district, and the Shanghai-based China BeiDou Industrial Technology Innovation West Hongqiao Base, the industrial park will focus on BeiDou digital industry to empower new infrastructure construction.
The industrial park aims to gain an output value of 10 billion yuan ($1.44 billion) per year, and it is also expected to bring in more than 100 enterprises and cultivate a group of high-profile professionals in the BeiDou digital industry.
Liangxi district has also invited a group of scientists including Yu Wenxian, chief scientist at the China BeiDou industrial park and director of the Shanghai BeiDou Research Institute, to offer advice on the district's high-quality development.
"Wuxi, especially Liangxi, boasts a superior geographical position, a favorable business environment, and huge market potential," said Yu. "The operation principle of Liangxi Science City is also fit for us."
Impressed by Liangxi's considerate and efficient administrative service, Yu added that they feel more confident of investing in the district.
Liangxi has set up a scientific innovation fund worth 10 billion yuan and is ramping up efforts to attract high-end intelligent manufacturing projects and to build 10 industrial clusters valued at 10 billion yuan.
This year, more than 100 major projects with a total investment of 130.49 billion yuan, more than half of which are industrial projects, will break ground in the district.
