Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, met with Tse Ping, vice-chairman of Thailand-based Charoen Pokphand Group and president of CP Pharmaceutical Group, in Yixing, a county-level city of Wuxi, on April 25.
After explaining Wuxi's situation, especially the city's biopharmaceutical industry, Du said that the city aims to become renowned for its prosperous industries.
Wuxi's development would not be possible without the support of enterprises, and the city will work to provide enterprises with many opportunities, Du noted.
He also expressed hope for further exchanges and enhanced cooperation with CP Group, focusing on the massive health industry and urban development.
He added that Wuxi authorities will provide the most efficient possible services and create the best possible business environment to promote the healthy development CP Group.
Tse said that he is optimistic about Wuxi's investment environment and development prospects and that the company will make full use of the advantages of CP Group and Wuxi to explore cooperation in the biopharmaceutical industry.
CP Group is Thailand's largest private company and the first foreign enterprise to invest in the Chinese mainland after China's reform and opening-up in the 1980s.
CP Group has forged a cooperative relationship with companies in Wuxi as it is an important investor in the Jiangyin-based Jiangsu ProteLight Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Co Ltd and an important partner of WuXi Biologics.
