An expert from the China National Environmental Monitoring Center believe that this achievement can be attributed to the efficient control of setting off fireworks and firecrackers during the Spring Festival holiday. In the first quarter of this year, the city's concentration of PM2.5 decreased by 12.8 percent year-on-year, making a good start.
In the first four months of this year, the average concentration of PM2.5 in Wuxi experienced a continuous year-on-year decrease, the expert added.

Take Wuxi National Hi-tech District, or Wuxi New District for example. As of July 15, the district had dispatched 677 staff members to inspect 65 local construction sites regularly.
Notably, the air quality of Jiangyin, a county-level city in Wuxi, reached the national secondary standard in the first half of this year with the proportion of days with good air quality being 82.9 percent.
