Three athletes from Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, are attending the 31st summer edition of the FISU World University Games in Chengdu, Sichuan province, from July 28 to Aug 8.
Another four athletes that have been trained in Wuxi also entered the games on behalf of China.

Sui Gaofei, Wu Ruidong, Zhao Shang, Cui Yang, Dong Tianyao, Tan Qiang, and Wang Zijie, will compete for medals in athletics, taekwondo, table tennis, badminton, and fencing.
A total of 269 gold medals are up for grabs at the Chengdu games in sports such as archery, gymnastics, track and field, and badminton and about 6,500 athletes from 113 countries and regions are competing at the games.

The Chinese delegation totals more than 700 people, including 411 student-athletes from 25 provincial regions. A total of 387 will be making their debuts at the World University Games, while 344 will be competing for the national team for the first time at an international sports event.
