Some improvements were made to schools in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, during the summer vacation to make it more convenient for parents to pick up their children.
Take Liangxi district for example. Eight schools in the district have finished renovation of the parents' waiting area and the waiting area at nine new schools is supported by high technologies.
Fengxiang Experimental School will boast a more comfortable environment after the innovation is complete, according to Que Hongwei, headmaster of the primary school.

He said that different benches and corridors will be established where parents can take a rest and students can read books.
Jiangyin Changjing Experimental Primary School has also built a corridor for parents to shelter from the rain or rest.
Vice-headmaster of the school Xia Jianghai noted that the 300-meter corridor is also a linear urban park connecting the public service spaces and surrounding scenic landscape.
Wuxi now is following all-age-friendly principles to build comfortable waiting areas for parents at schools, easing traffic jams before school gates and ensuring students' safety.
