An economic and trade delegation from Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, visited the United Kingdom from Aug 8 to 12 local time to seek cooperation.
The delegation oversaw the signing of agreements for 20 projects with a combined investment of over $2.2 billion during their five-day UK trip. The projects involved advanced equipment manufacturing, e-commerce, software information, and more.
On Aug 9, Wuxi hosted a promotional conference in London to update attendees on the latest developments in its business environment and industry.
During their stay in the UK, the delegation also visited local financial institutions, high-tech businesses, and research institutes, including Standard Chartered Bank, Heraeus Noblelight, Kohler Capital's headquarters in London.

At AstraZeneca's headquarters in London and the AstraZeneca Global R&D Center in Cambridge, the delegation facilitated the signing of strategic cooperation projects between Wuxi and AstraZeneca.
Vulpes Ventures will cooperate with Wuxi-based Guolian Group and Wuxi New District to build the Wuxi-Oxford Biomedical Industrial Park and invest $500 million in a biological medicine fund.

The UK is Wuxi's main trade partner in Europe, and in 2022 the city's trade with the UK expanded by 8.5 percent to $1.36 billion.
Both sides also demonstrated strong cooperation in projects. UK-based businesses have so far invested £1.30 billion ($1.66 billion) in 149 companies in Wuxi and Wuxi businesses have invested £270 million in 17 projects in the UK.
