Four towns in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, were recently listed as towns with a strong industry by the ministries of agriculture and rural affairs and finance.
Yangshan town in Huishan district is renowned for honey peaches, which are one of the four famous peaches in China and also a national agricultural product of geographical indication.
The town currently is home to 38,000 mu (2,533.33 hectares) of honey peach orchards. In 2022 it produced 34,000 tons of honey peaches and the per capita disposable income of honey peach farmers exceeded 62,000 yuan ($8,509.41).
With their increasingly high reputation around the country, Yangshan honey peaches set records in price again and again.

Huangtu town in Jiangyin is reputed for its grapes. After more than 40 years of exploration, the town now farms more than 20 species of grapes and has become a national production base of high-quality grapes. In 2008, Huangtu was designated the supplier of grapes to the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Wanshi town in Yixing started strengthening its vegetable industry with a total investment of 26.3 million yuan in 2020. Cress is the main vegetable grown in Wanshi which grows nearly 2,300 mu of cress and 1,500 mu of other Shuibaxian, or eight aquatic plants.
Last year, the output value of the vegetable industry in Wanshi totaled 322 million yuan and the earnings of cress per mu exceeded 10,000 yuan.

The Chinese yew industry is the leading industry in Donggang town, Xishan district. The town's Wuxi Taxus Pharmaceutical Co is mainly engaged in the development of taxoids antitumor drugs and other medicines which utilize Chinese yews.
