A train carrying the vehicles produced by SAIC Maxus for Chevrolet departed Wuxi West Railway Station Logistics Park in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Aug 28 for Mexico.
The train consisted of 29 cage trolley-style carriages with each holding seven pickup trucks or 10 cars.

Compared with traditional container transportation, it is easier to load vehicles to trolley-style carriages, which saves massive human costs and improves safety and convenience, said a staff member from SAIC Motor.

Xia Linfei, general manager of Wuxi International Freight Train Co, noted that the train not only lays a strong foundation for the development of China-Europe trains in Wuxi, but is also an opportunity for the company to diversify its transportation mode.
To better serve local businesses, the freight company has provided more customized services including container sea-rail combined transport, Xia added.
