The 18th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo commenced in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Sept 9.
The expo this year attracted more than 300 brands and design institutions and over 500 designers from around the world who exhibited their works on its 18,000-square meter exhibition area.

At the event, the Red Dot Design Award made its official debut in Wuxi and the United Nations Postal Administration showcased the stamps of Belgium and Finland for the first time.
The design works from the Red Dot Design Museum are a delight to the designer surnamed Ai who came from Hefei, East China's Anhui province, for the expo.
He said that all he cared about in Wuxi was the high-level exhibition and he expects to broaden his horizons from this visit.

More than 300 experts and entrepreneurs from numerous countries and regions also gathered at the opening ceremony of the expo to discuss intellectual property strategy and the development of cultural and creative industries.
One of the key activities of the design expo, the award ceremony of the 11th Taihu Award Design Competition, took place on the same day.
The special prize of the industry group was awarded to the French-style refrigerator design from Haier, and the gold awards of the industry and creation groups were given to the COLMO anti-bacteria washing machine from Little Swan and the floating classroom design from Tongji University respectively.
