The first Beidou Space Information Industry Wuxi Innovative Development Conference was held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Sept 22.
Renowned experts, investors and entrepreneurs were invited to share their achievements in space information technology and to contribute to the development of the Beidou space information industry in Wuxi.

Guo Guirong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said in his speech that Wuxi, a key city in the Yangtze River Delta, boasts abundant technological and industrial resources and that the YRD Beidou Space Information Digital Industry Demonstration Park in the city's Liangxi district will become the sci-tech innovation source of Beidou space information and a hub for leading enterprises.
Zhang Ansheng, vice-president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, noted that SJTU has always valued YRD integration and that the university will leverage its advantages in talent, discipline and scientific research to deepen cooperation with Wuxi in innovation, technology commercialization, and talent cultivation.
"The Beidou Navigation Satellite System, China's first aerospace system to make global networking operations possible, has made a strong mark in navigation," said Jiang Min, executive vice-mayor of Wuxi. "The demonstration park, built by Wuxi and the Shanghai-based China Beidou Industrial Technology Innovation West Hongqiao Base, has created an ecosystem for the Beidou space information industry, which will provide strong support to the city's modern industries."

Unveiled in April, the YRD Beidou Space Information Digital Industry Demonstration Park will center around the Beidou digital industry and set up industrial innovation platforms, funds for incubating businesses, and institutes for advanced study.
The industrial park was given the title of innovation demonstration base by the GNSS and LBS Association of China during the conference and is expected to attract more related enterprises and accelerate the development of the Beidou space information industry through collaborative R&D of common technologies and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.

The establishment of the SJTU (Wuxi) Digital Economy Industrial Technology Advanced Research Center and YRD Space Information Technological Innovation Alliance were also announced at the conference.
The conference was sponsored by the Liangxi district government, Liangxi Science City management bureau, and other institutions.
