The 2023 Taihu Art Festival and the Wuxi venue of the 22nd China Shanghai International Arts Festival will be held in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, from Oct 14 to Nov 30, local media outlets reported.

During the festivals' 48 days, more than 100 activities, including stage dramas, concerts and art exhibitions, will be offered at Wuxi Grand Theater or the Great Hall of the People in Wuxi. Renowned artists from home and abroad are expected to give excellent performances.
The opening performance of the festivals will be given by Russian conductor Valery Gergiev and the 110 members of the Mariinsky Orchestra, one of the oldest musical groups in Russia, at 7:30 pm at Wuxi Grand Theater on Oct 19.

Other concerts well worth listening to are sure to be the solo concert by Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu on Oct 25, the Voices of Hope concert by the London Community Gospel Choir on Oct 24, the piano solo recital by Russian pianist Svetlana Smolina on Oct 20, and the solo concert by Serbian pianist Dejan Sinadinovic on Nov 11.
