The 15th Chinese Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition was unveiled in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Nov 2.
Ma Xin, executive vice-governor of Jiangsu, congratulated Wuxi on the successful opening of the event, saying that Jiangsu has continuously promoted the efficient use of traditional energy and the development of new energy.

He added that with a sound foundation, Wuxi has set an early foot in the field of new energy and has been performing well in new energy equipment manufacturing. Based in Wuxi, the conference will gradually become an influential platform.
Yu Jianlong, vice-chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that Wuxi is an important manufacturing base of new energy in China and that the council will help the city's new energy industry seek international resources.
Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi, thanked participants for their concern and support of the city's new energy industry and noted that the city will introduce innovative enterprises and build specialized industrial parks in the domain of new energy to polish its calling card as Chinese capital of new energy equipment.

During the event, 73 projects with a combined investment of 128.6 billion yuan ($17.58) were signed into effect in Wuxi. The projects cover areas of wind power, energy storage, new energy funds, new energy vehicles, and more.
The expo showcased new products, technologies and applications in photovoltaic power, energy storage, hydrogen energy, and other fields.
