The rail transit connecting Pudong and Hongqiao, two transportation hubs in Shanghai, is expected to start operating next year and its first train made debut on Dec 5.
The rail transit will allow people to travel between Pudong and Hongqiao in about 40 minutes and make multiple transfers available, including to the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Intercity Railway. Therefore, it will take less time for people in the three cities in Jiangsu to travel to Shanghai.
