Students at Xidong Senior High School of Jiangsu in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, recently participated in the creation of the song Making Waves with local musician Du Yichao to mark the school's 10th anniversary.

The song was inspired by the daily life of teenagers and part of its lyrics, which portray dream pursuers who are happy to cooperate, create and assume responsibility, were from the submissions of the school's students.

Du made a bold attempt at the music style, blending Rhythm and Blues with retro disco and using melodic rap as an introduction.

Ni Chun, a graduate of the senior high school who is pursuing further education in Nanjing, was invited to sing the song with his junior fellow students.
Du noted that the song is more than just an art work as it records some memorable days in the students' growth and that he hopes to motivate the younger generations with the song.
