A preview of the film Taibo took place in Meili Ancient Town, Wuxi, on Feb 18 to mark the 3,308th birthday of Taibo, founder of Wu Culture.
A joint production by Meili Ancient Town Construction Development Co and Wuxi Guangxin Film and Television Animation Technology Co and directed by first-class director, Guo Xiaowei, the movie portrays Taibo, the first son of King Tai of the Zhou Dynasty (1045 BC to 256 BC), who took the culture of the central plains to Wuxi and founded the first ancient civilization in the Jiangnan region.

The movie depicts a wise, kind, and enterprising Taibo and reproduces the arduous development of Wu Culture, referring to the culture in southern Jiangsu and northern Zhejiang, and features watertowns, the Wu dialect, and unique folk customs and habits.

Taibo is slated for release across the country this summer, which is expected to further promote the reputation and influence of Wuxi, the birthplace of Wu Culture.
