Wuxi in Jiangsu province unveiled some major music-related initiatives at the launch ceremony of the Chinese Folk Music Wuxi Week, which was held in Paris, France, on May 21.
Among them were eight music-themed travel routes featuring folk music, Jiangnan-style music, live music, patriotic music, and more.

To promote international music exchanges, the Chinese city will recruit two to five influential musicians each year to carry out exchanges in the city related to general life experience, musical creation, exhibitions, and performances. Such an exchange event will be held in July this year.

The last initiative unveiled was the 14th Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival, which is set to take place in Jiangying, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Wuxi, in August and will welcome 2,500 harmonica players from 33 countries and regions.
