The 2024 Yangtze River Aquatic Life Release event was held in Jiangyin, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Wuxi, Jiangsu, on June 6 to mark the national fish releasing day.
At two o'clock, a batch of dark-striped pufferfish fry was packed and loaded, after being quarantined, sampled, and counted, to be delivered to the release spot.

Because of the high oxygen requirements of the fry, any slight negligence may lead to death. Each fry transport vehicle was therefore equipped with oxygen regulation equipment.
To ensure smooth transfer, the State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company arranged staff members and mobile power vehicles to escort and provide power to the transport vehicles.

Since the first fry release in 2002, Jiangyin has released 180 million different rare fishes into the Yangtze River, with the State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company never missing a single event.
In recent years, the Wuxi power company has promoted the protection of the Yangtze River via shore power construction. To date, the company has set up 92 charging piles for shore power along the river in the city, supplying 404,800 kilowatt-hours to 33,474 ships. It has also promoted electrification equipment in the intensive area of aquaculture.
