The 2024 Cross-Strait (Jiangsu) Sports Carnival and the 4th Cross-Strait Youth Basketball Invitational Tournament commenced in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Aug 2. The event, themed "Together, Walking with Youth Power," aims to promote sports exchanges across the Taiwan Strait, strengthening ties among youth between the two sides.

The tournament kicked off with an exciting, friendly match between the Fo Guang University Team from Taiwan and the Basketball Park Team from Wuxi.
Chen Cheng-Yao, a participant from the New Taipei Buffaloes Basketball Team, expressed his admiration for the development of the Chinese mainland. He noted that his teammates, hailing from diverse backgrounds in Taiwan, were thrilled to be able to visit the Chinese mainland and participate in the event. Chen also expressed his hope that the games could foster friendships between the participants.
The carnival also features over 1000 young people participating in nearly 20 sports competitions, including marathons, robotics, martial arts, and e-sports.
