At the regional headquarters of WeRide in East China in the Wuxi Economic Development District, these journalists boarded to experience the globally advanced unmanned self-driving minibus.
The minibus can accommodate nine passengers and one safety officer, with a maximum speed of up to 40 kilometers per hour. After taking the bus, a self-media blogger from Egypt said, "I used to mainly share Chinese idioms with foreigners, but now I'm also planning to introduce more of China's advanced technology."
WeRide is a globally leading autonomous driving technology company conducting research, testing, and operations of autonomous driving in 30 cities across seven countries. The enterprise has deployed 50 L4-level autonomous driving minibusses in WEDD, opened several shuttle routes, and launched the country's first online minibus travel service.
Their next stop is the city's Xishan district, known as the hometown of electric vehicles in China, with its industrial scale accounting for one-third of the country's total.
An internet celebrity from Indonesia expressed after the visit, "In my hometown, electric bikes and motorcycles are the go-to rides. I feel a sense of familiarity today, visiting the company (Yadea) that manufactures them."
