The Xiju Opera Art Center in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, will offer Xiju Opera special performances on Jan 18 to better promote the city's intangible cultural heritage, allowing Wuxi residents, especially the young generations, to get closer to the traditional art.
On a leisurely Saturday afternoon, stepping into the art center to enjoy wonderful Xiju Opera shows would be a delightful choice for weekend pastimes.

The Xiju Opera Art Center is the former site of the Wuxi Yueju Opera Troupe and is the only Xiju Opera-themed museum in the country. It was completed and opened in 2006 and has played a good role in the protection, inheritance, research, and display of Xiju Opera.
In recent years, the Wuxi municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting, and tourism has carried out a comprehensive transformation and upgrade of the art center, giving it a completely new look and adding more functions to it, such as regular performances, displaying intangible cultural heritage skills, exhibiting and selling cultural products, as well as offering ICH courses.
