The first episode of A Touch of Wuxi, the inaugural season of the micro-documentary series about Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province, has been released.
This episode, titled "The Industrial and Commercial Gene, a Century of Prosperity", focuses on the city's historical industrial and commercial roots.
Wuxi, one of the birthplaces of Wu culture, outlined the form of civilization in Jiangnan by the story of Taibo's journey to Wu. With the Yangtze River to the north and the ancient Grand Canal passing through, Wuxi is blessed with a golden waterway, and its four major docks nurture the cradle of the nation's industry and commerce.
Today, Wuxi considers the construction of a modern industrial cluster to be the essence of its industrial development, revitalizing traditional industries, upgrading emerging industries, and accelerating the cultivation of future industries to create new quality productive forces. These are inseparable from the long-term accumulation of commercial civilization and ideology in this famous industrial and commercial city.
