The arrival of Flight VZ3530, transporting 128 passengers from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to Wuxi Shuofang Airport in Wuxi on June 28, signifies the official recommencement of the Wuxi-Bangkok international route.
This route, operated by Thai Vietjet Air, is scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The resumption offers more convenient options for travelers traveling between Wuxi and Bangkok. It also functions as a conduit for economic and trade exchanges, as well as cultural interactions, fostering stronger connections between the two cities.
With the growing popularity of traveling to China and the implementation of visa-free policies, an increasing number of foreign tourists are visiting Wuxi as their initial destination in China.
Recent data indicates that more than 29,000 foreigners have entered China through Wuxi since the beginning of this year. Among these, 15,203 are visa-free visitors, reflecting a 263 percent increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, over 80 percent of these individuals are traveling for tourism or business reasons.
Currently, Wuxi Shuofang Airport has resumed international (regional) routes to eight destinations, including Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, and Bangkok, among others, totaling nine international passenger routes.
