From Friday to Sunday, Wuxi hosted the 2025 Taihu Talent Development Conference, showcasing its commitment to innovation by gathering top experts and industry leaders.
The opening ceremony featured speeches by Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi, Li Xiaofeng, deputy director of the Organization Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Wu Xiaocheng, Party secretary of Southeast University.
Highlights included the launch of a new platform for transforming scientific achievements, partnerships with leading universities, and the unveiling of the Jiangsu Province Characteristic Industry Talent Cluster Area. Wuxi also introduced its first batch of project managers and announced eight new industry funds.

A major focus was the new "Main Portal" for talent services, streamlining job opportunities, housing subsidies, and essential needs like education and healthcare. The conference also featured AI-powered talent showcases, attracting 100 alumni associations and 600 projects, with funding reaching 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion).
Wuxi's "Taihu Talent Plan" has already built a talent pool of 2.3 million, including 192,000 high-level experts. This has fueled breakthroughs in industries like integrated circuits and biomedicine, with innovations such as high-end photonic chips and China's first domestically produced lung cancer drug. The event reinforced Wuxi's role as a hub for innovation and talent development.
