The Wuxi-based Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Bridges Illumination Project in Jiangsu province was recently honored with the Gold Award at the 2025 MUSE Design Awards.
The MUSE Design Awards are highly influential international honors recognizing excellence in global creativity. They assess various criteria and are awarded at three levels: Platinum, Gold, and Silver. Renowned for their strict evaluation process, broad scope, and international outlook, these awards set a global standard for design innovation.
This award represents another success for Wuxi Lighting Co, the team behind the project, building on their previous achievement in the night lighting design of the Mashan Wind Tower.

The Wuxi section of the Grand Canal spans approximately 40 kilometers, with about 14 kilometers running through the urban area. It is one of the busiest, most freight-concentrated, and most economically beneficial sections of the entire Grand Canal.
The lighting enhancement project for the 11 bridges along the Wuxi section, namely, Ronghu, Xishan, Liangxi, Kaiyuan, Hongxing, Shengxin, Jingui, Qingning, Jincheng, Xinyang, and Huaqing bridges, aims to add different vibes to the bridges with lighting while preserving their original appearance, linking the city's past and present.
Notably, the Huaqing Bridge uses elegant lighting to create a nightscape that combines classical charm with modern aesthetics, making it a representative landmark of the Wuxi section. The Ronghu Bridge is adorned with changing lights that mimic a starry rain and misty waves, and during festivals, it displays celebratory images such as the national flag and lanterns.
