The Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area was created by combining Xihui Park with the Huishan historical and cultural block. It is divided into four main tourism areas: the cultural relics and historic sites area, Xihui Park Scenic Area, the historical and cultural block, and the mountain and forest conservation area.

Xihui Park, also called the Xihui Scenic Area, is a major national park. The Huishan historical and cultural block is a city-level designated historic area in Wuxi, and Huishan Ancient Street has been recognized as a Chinese historical and cultural street. The Huishan ancestral halls are also on the tentative list of World Heritage Sites.

Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area is rich in cultural relics, historic sites, and beautiful natural scenery. Notable attractions include the Huishan Temple from the Northern and Southern Dynasties (420-581), Jichang Garden from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), along with 108 ancestral halls and gardens from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) to the Republic of China period (1911-49). The area also features the distinguished China Azalea Garden, a top-tier specialized plant garden.
