Wuxi Taihu University is a full-time, multidisciplinary applied undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education, featuring 18 teaching units. Its five programs — Internet of Things Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Accounting, International Economics and Trade, and Visual Communication Design — are all recognized as national first-class undergraduate programs.

The university co-founded the Scotland College of Wuxi Taihu University with the University of the West of Scotland. It has signed agreements for direct entry into undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs with leading institutions like the University of East London, the University of Hull, and the University of Western Australia. It also collaborates with top Chinese universities like Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics for graduate education. The university also offers study programs with globally renowned institutions, including Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge, and the National University of Singapore.
