The official website of World Athletics recently unveiled the 2025 marathon rankings, with the Wuxi Marathon securing 22nd place.
The rankings are determined through a comprehensive event scoring system that includes performance scores, participation level scores, and world record bonus points.
This system is designed to evaluate the competitive prowess of elite athletes. The 2025 Wuxi Marathon garnered an impressive score of 9,531, placing it 22nd globally and third among all marathons in China.
The Wuxi Marathon is celebrated for its picturesque course, often described as "running in a painting", and its reputation as "the marathon that best understands runners".
The 2026 event has already attracted a record-breaking 495,635 registrants, setting a new benchmark for marathon participation in China and achieving the highest registration numbers for any marathon in Asia.
