Wuxi, Jiangsu province, achieved a record-breaking foreign trade volume of 829.28 billion yuan ($119.24 billion) in the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), marking a 7.6 percent increase from the previous year.
This growth rate surpasses the provincial average by 1.6 percentage points.
Since starting at 607.56 billion yuan in 2020, Wuxi has successfully crossed the 700 billion yuan and 800 billion yuan milestones over the past five years.
In 2025, its high-tech product imports and exports soared to 375.72 billion yuan, reflecting a 14.7 percent year-on-year increase. This outpaced the provincial growth rate for high-tech trade by 5.2 percentage points.
Wuxi has expanded its foreign trade network to encompass 225 countries and regions, with a focus on tapping emerging markets such as ASEAN, Africa, and the Middle East.
In 2025, its trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative reached 437.67 billion yuan, up 9.3 percent year-on-year and representing 52.8 percent of the city's total foreign trade volume.
