The HLA Wuxi Marathon is set to kick off in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, at 7 am on March 22, bringing together 35,000 runners from around the world.
Among them, 27,000 will run the full marathon and 8,000 will contest the half marathon. The starting point remains at the intersection of Taihu Road and Yinxiu Road, with the half marathon finishing at Jiangnan University Sports Center and the full marathon finishing at Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center.
This year, the Wuxi Marathon is introducing an award ceremony for the top three male and female Chinese runners. It has also established prize money for amateur participants.
To ensure a smooth start for all runners, the event will continue to implement a zoned check-in and staggered start system.
For the first time, race apparel will be tailored in both men's and women's styles for a better fit, and bibs will feature a QR code for easy result checking. Additionally, the distribution machines for race apparel at the kit collection point will now include chip detection technology, enhancing the service's intelligence and convenience.
A dedicated team of 6,153 professionally trained volunteers will support the event, including university students, community volunteers, and seasoned event officials. The medical team, comprising 1,275 members, includes medical staff, medical runners, and emergency organization personnel. Furthermore, over 7,000 security personnel will be on hand to ensure the event proceeds smoothly and safely throughout the day.
This year's Wuxi Marathon is offering five waves of special benefits, such as coupon packages and discounts on travel, accommodations, dining, and even home purchases.
