The 2026 Chinese Athletics Association 10KM Elite Series Wuxi Yangshan Station is set to captivate runners on Peach Heart Island in Huishan district, Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on March 29.
This year's event aims to create a more professional and distinctive road-running festival, supporting the transformation of Yangshan into a national tourist resort.
Jointly organized by CAA and the Huishan district government, the race adheres strictly to the CAA's A1 certification standards. This ensures participants' results are entered into the official database, qualifying them for the Chinese amateur road running ranking.
The event features three categories: a 10-kilometer group, a sweet run (5 km), and a family run (5 km), accommodating 5,000 participants and catering to runners of all ages and preferences.
Both the start and finish lines are located on Peach Heart Island, linking scenic routes such as Taoyuanzhong Road and Yangshan Road. The 10 km course focuses on speed, while the 5 km course offers a more leisurely experience.
The event will showcase five top 100 male and five top 100 female athletes, with special guest Wang Liping, the women's 20-km walk champion at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, leading the run.
The race's peripheral design integrates Yangshan's regional characteristics, offering both practicality and collectible value. The finishers' medals feature Yangshan peach blossoms and volcanic geological elements, with detachable sliding petals and magnetic wooden volcanic accessories.
Additionally, a spring-themed market will be set up at the finish line, showcasing Yangshan's specialty agricultural products and intangible cultural heritage. Throughout the event, cultural and tourism activities such as a rural tourism festival and a gourmet tasting event will also be featured.
