More than 10 expatriates from countries including Ethiopia, Morocco, and Bangladesh visited Jiangnan University in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on May 16, to experience a day in the life of a Chinese university student.
Guided by volunteers from the university, the international visitors explored the university's history museum and library. They also took strolls along Xiaolihu Lake, where they enjoyed the poetic scenery that beautifully blends Jiangnan's water charm with the campus landscape.

At the Folk Costume Heritage Museum, volunteers provided detailed bilingual interpretations of Manchu embroidery, an intangible cultural heritage in China, allowing the beauty of traditional Chinese craftsmanship to transcend language barriers.
During the dining segment, volunteers introduced Wuxi's culinary culture and highlighted dietary taboos, enabling these international guests to savor Wuxi's local flavors.
At JNU's Food Science History Museum and the Future Food Science Center, volunteers offered insights into the cutting-edge technologies and international collaborations within Jiangnan University's food science discipline, showcasing the innovative strength of Chinese food technology.

As the event concluded, the School of Foreign Studies at JNU organized a special intercultural exchange event, during which volunteers engaged in in-depth dialogues with the international guests. This gathering effectively highlighted Jiangnan University’s educational offerings and Wuxi's charm, fostering a lasting bridge of communication and friendship.
The event exemplified JNU's commitment to enhancing local international communication and urban cultural exchange. By using culture as a medium and language as a bridge, the university aims to continue promoting international cultural exchange and educational cooperation in Wuxi.
