The Tourism Business Forum 2026 opened in Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia, on July 29, with Zhou Wendong, vice-mayor of Wuxi, outlining a three-pronged cooperation framework between the city and the Cambodian province.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Zhou said Wuxi would deepen collaboration with Preah Sihanouk in three key areas: jointly promoting cross-border tour packages capitalizing on Cambodia's visa-free policy for Chinese citizens; organizing regular exchanges among cultural, intangible heritage and tourism professionals between the two sides; and opening investment channels in tourism and culture for businesses from both cities.
Zhou said that the growing strategic trust between China and Cambodia, as well as the evolving China-Cambodia community with a shared future, has created a stable government-to-government cooperation framework that benefits Wuxi and Preah Sihanouk alike.
Preah Sihanouk Provincial Governor Mang Sineth said the forum would further strengthen cooperation between Cambodian and Chinese tourism enterprises, boost bilateral trade, and promote tourism connectivity between the two countries. He added that the provincial government is continuously upgrading air, sea and rail transport networks while offering various incentives to foreign investors.
During the forum, investment delegations from Hainan, Nanning and Wuxi were scheduled to hold discussions with Preah Sihanouk's tourism director and conduct site visits across the province to assess local tourism infrastructure and the investment climate.
The forum marks a new chapter in the growing partnership between Preah Sihanouk and Wuxi, while injecting fresh momentum into the province's efforts to attract external investment.
