A 10-member delegation from a local tourism association of Busan, South Korea, made its first visit to Wuxi from July 27 to 29, touring the city's major cultural and scenic sites and laying the groundwork for closer tourism ties between the two cities.

The delegation visited a range of Wuxi's signature attractions, including Huishan Ancient Town, Yuantouzhu and Liyuan Park. The itinerary also included visits to Lingshan Mountain, Nianhuawan Bay, Qingming Bridge Ancient Canal Scenic Area and a local distillery.

"The combination of lakes and mountains here is striking and Wuxi manages to be both grand and elegant," the delegation head said. He said that Busan and Wuxi share strong geographical ties and complementary tourism assets, adding that his association would actively promote Wuxi as a destination across South Korea's tourism industry to boost two-way visitor flows.

The visit concluded with Wuxi's tourism authorities outlining a cooperative framework focusing on four areas: establishing regular institutional exchanges, co-developing customized tour packages, conducting joint marketing campaigns to boost two-way traffic and upgrading visitor services such as multilingual support and payment systems.

The visit marks a significant step in Wuxi's efforts to tap into South Korea's outbound tourism market and strengthen its international tourism profile.
