To promote Chinese stone-appreciating culture and science popularization effects of peculiar stones, the government moved Longyin Peculiar Stone Science Popularization Museum to Yuantouzhu Scenic Spot of Taihu Lake, near Mashan Mountain of Wuxi.
The museum displays various natural peculiar stones all over the country, for example, Lingbi Stone from Anhui Province, Juhua Stone and Gutao Stone from Hubei Province, Mudan Stone and Meihua Stone from Henan Province, Caitao Stone and Laibin from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Kongque Stone and Huangla Stone from Guangdong Province, Wen Stone from Shangdong Province, Green Stone from Laoshan Mountain, Fengleng Stone from Xinjiang Uygur Region, Putao Manao Stone from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and colorful ore crystals and fossil specimen of animals and plans millions of years ago.
Some of the stones have been displayed in international or domestic stone exhibitions, winning 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. Hawk Stone and Fenghuishou Stone have been compiled into the book, “china’s peculiar stones”; 8 peculiar stones have been compiled into the book, “the collection of 100 young stone collectors”, such as Zhonghuahun Stone, Feipu Stone and Duxiu Stone. The documentary of the museum has successively broadcasted in CCTV, Phoenix TV of Hong Kong, Europe Satellite TV, Lahaska TV and Panda TV of United States.
