On March 5, Jabil Electronic Cloud Computing and Radio Frequency Technology Research and Development Center was inaugurated in Wuxi, which would provide cloud computing and radio frequency technology R&D services for Jabil Group in greater China, and further enhance Jabil's leading position in 5G communication equipment manufacturing industry. Huang Qin, Mayor of Wuxi, met with Alessandro Parimbelli, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Jabil Group. Wang Jinjian, Deputy Mayor of Wuxi, Secretary of Party Working Committee of High-tech Zone and Secretary of Xinwu District Party Committee, and Zhang Mingkang, Secretary General of Wuxi Municipal Government, attended the meeting.
Huang Qin said during the meeting that last year, the output value of Jabil Electronic reached 16 billion yuan, and the import and export value reached 2.473 billion us dollars, ranking among the top 100 import and export enterprises in the city and making positive contributions to the economic development of Wuxi, which are appreciated by the city. At present, Wuxi is speeding up the building of an industrial cluster focusing on electronic information, which is highly consistent with the strategic goal of Jabil Group and enjoys broad space for cooperation between the two sides. It is hoped that through the establishment of the R&D center, Jabil Electronic will continuously improve its independent research and development ability, actively build a complete industrial chain integrating R&D, manufacturing and after-sales maintenance, and continuously consolidate and enhance Jabil Electronic' leading position in the manufacturing industry of 5G communication equipment.
Alessandro Parimbelli thanked Wuxi for its strong support. He said the establishment of the R&D center will provide good technical support for the development of 5G business of enterprises. The company already has 5G operations in Shanghai and will move some of its operations to Wuxi. Therefore, in the future, Jabil Group will continue to expand its investment in Wuxi and provide more high-tech and skilled jobs for Wuxi through the creation of intelligent workshops. He looked forward to a better win-win situation for both sides.
