Recently, the Linton Kayex BIPV photovoltaic power generation project in Xibei Town, Xishan District was officially launched. According to the department of development and reform of Xishan District, the first prefabricated photovoltaic building integrated project of Wuxi with an installed capacity of 1,600kW can provide clean electricity of about 1.6 million kilowatt hours for manufacturing bases every year .

BIPV, namely building integrated photovoltaics, is a technology that applies solar power (photovoltaic) products into buildings. BIPV emphasizes the close integration of photovoltaics and building roofs. It is estimated that the existing building area in China is about 80 billion square meters. Once BIPV is applied in a large scale, it will welcome a huge market with an output of nearly trillions yuan. The Linton Kayex BIPV photovoltaic power generation project, proposed by the leading enterprise with BIPV technology in China, LONGi New Energy Co., Ltd., aims to turn traditional roofs of industrial and commercial plants into "super roofs" with the function of power generation through roof materials that can generate electricity.
