On March 31, the Wuxi High-tech Zone (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Conference was held in Pudong, Shanghai to show the confidence and determination of Wuxi High-tech Zone to deeply integrate into the Yangtze River Delta and Shanghai. Marie-Claire Swärd Capra, Consul General of the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai, Fukuta Takamoto, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai, Kim Han-kyu, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of South Korea in Shanghai, Du Xiaogang, Mayor of Wuxi, Zhu Yimin, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, Ms. Jiang Min and Mr. Zhou Changqing, leading officials of Wuxi, Zhang Lijun, Secretary General of the Wuxi Municipal People’s Government, officials from consulates general of Australia, France, Singapore and other countries in Shanghai and representatives of multinational companies such as AstraZeneca and LG attended the event.
On the same day, the white paper of the 2020 Wuxi High-tech Zone Investment Environment Assessment Report was published. It interpreted the supporting policies for two key industries, namely the IC industry and the biomedical industry. In addition, 45 major projects with a total investment of 29.3 billion yuan were signed together at the promotion conference.
Wuxi High-tech Zone was awarded as the "China-Japan-South Korea (Jiangsu) Industrial Cooperation Demonstration Park", becoming one of the first batch of parks in Jiangsu Province and the only park in the whole city that won this honor. In addition, 10 internationally renowned consulting institutions such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Savills and CBRE signed strategic cooperation agreements with Wuxi High-tech Zone. At the same time, five overseas business representative offices of Wuxi in Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Singapore were set up to officially start investment promotion in the world.
