The 6th Global Outsourcing Summit was opened in Wuxi

On June 15, the 6th Global Outsourcing Summit was opened in Wuxi. Top executives and experts in service outsourcing from 50 countries and regions gathered in Wuxi to discuss the global service outsourcing development. Huang Lixin, a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee, delivered a speech. Wei Jianguo, Former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC and Vice Chairperson and Secretary General of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, Wang Quan, Acting Mayor of Wuxi, Wuxi municipal leaders Huang Qin and Zhang Yefei, Secretary General of the Wuxi Municipal People's Government Wu Fengfeng as well as the relevant representatives of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC and Department of Commerce of Jiangsu participated in the opening ceremony. Before the meeting, Huang Lixin and Wang Quan met representatives of the participants.

The 6th Global Outsourcing Summit, themed as "transnational cooperation and urban transformation in the service outsourcing", is co-sponsored by the Wuxi Municipal People’s Government, the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC and the Asia-Pacific CEO Association (APCEO). In recent years, Wuxi's outsourcing industry has scored remarkable development and Wuxi has become a demonstration city in service outsourcing. At present, there are over 1,200 enterprises with the employees of about 150,000 engaging in service outsourcing, and the enterprises cover the businesses of software development outsourcing and integrated circuit design outsourcing. In 2012, the total amount of contracted business amounted to USD 6.4 billion and offshore outsourcing package execution amounted to USD 3.3 billion, both increasing by over 40%.
