From April 5 to April 9, local time, the Wuxi economic and trade delegation led by Mayor of Wuxi Wang Quan left Japan for the UK and Israel to connect with high-end industrial projects, further forces on innovation, deepen cooperation and seek for new breakthroughs of transformation development of Wuxi. Ye Qinliang, Vice Chairperson of the Wuxi Municipal Committee of the CPPCC (Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference), joined the visit.

On the evening of April 5, local time, the delegation held the “Wuxi·UK Entrepreneur Exchange Meeting” in London and had an in-depth exchange with famous enterprises and international consultative agencies including AstraZeneca, Caterpillar, Cummins and HSBC. Wang Quan said in his speech that Wuxi will stick to the development strategy of "booming the city with industry”, stick to the path of industrial transformation and upgrade and actively promote industrial structure towards middle and high end. On April 6, the delegation visited the government of Essex, a sister province of Jiangsu, and its prefecture, and the government of Chelmsford, a sister city of Wuxi, comprehensively deepening exchange and cooperation with Essex in smart city construction, IOT industry development and bilateral investment. From April 8 to April 9, the delegation visited Israel, “the 2nd Silicon Valley in the world”. During its stay in Israel, the delegation visited Netafim, leader of trickle irrigation and micro-irrigation solutions in the world, and its American investors and had a field trip in its research and development center and production base, thus further promoting the urban farm project with total investment of USD 100 million in Jiangyin.
