A total of 22,000 domestic runners are expected to compete in the 2020 Beverly Wuxi Marathon at 7:30 am on Nov 1 in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
The annual sporting event, scheduled for March 22, was postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Only native participants were invited to participate in the event this year to ensure safety.
The 22,000 slots include 15,000 for the full marathon (42.2 kilometers), 5,000 for the half-marathon (21.1 km), and 2,000 for the mini-marathon (5 km).
Participants must submit negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test results and have a green health code to participate in the event.

Prizes for the 2020 Beverly Wuxi Marathon remained attractive to participants -- the champion will be awarded 100,000 yuan ($14,886) for the champion and around 400,000 yuan are available in the bonus pool.
The annual marathon is known for its scenic route, which passes through several popular local scenic areas and attracts many runners from around the world every year.
This year's route will also pass through the Gonghuwan Wetland Park. In addition, an experience and exhibition center for the Wuxi Marathon was built inside at 39.5 kilometers of the route, which will open to the public soon.
During this year's event, a round-trip ferry will run from the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center to the Wuxi Sunac Resort, in an effort to promote the resort to tourists.
