With the extinguishing of the flame in the caldron, the Tokyo Paralympic Games closed on Sept 5, with Team China winning 207 medals to top the medal tally.
The Chinese athletes, 40 percent of them being first-time Paralympians, won 96 gold, 60 silver, and 51 bronze medals.
China's women's sitting volleyball team claimed a silver medal after falling in the final 3-1. The team beat the United States in straight sets to claim their second win in the preliminary round, but lost the first two rounds in the final.
Sheng Yuhong, Gong Bin, and Wang Li from Wuxi were part of the women's sitting volleyball team.
Sheng, who is China's national team coach for women's sitting volleyball, led her team to gold at the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Paralympics. Sheng noted that although they lost in the final, the team's members had given their best, as well as showed the spirit of tenacious struggle and solidarity.
Gong and Wang are both veterans in sitting volleyball and have demonstrated perseverance in the face of difficulty.
Wang said that she gained valuable experience during the game, adding that she will continue to work hard to compete at the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024.
