Athletes from Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, won gold and silver medals for Team China at the ongoing Hangzhou Asian Games, which started on Sept 23.

Chess player Wei Yi was the first Wuxi athlete to secure a gold medal. In individual competition on Sept 27, Wei beat the Mongolian player and won the medal.

In the women's singles final match, tennis player Zhu Lin from Wuxi won a silver medal, and two days later Sun Huadong and Bao Yingfeng won China's first-ever Asian Games equestrian gold with their teammates on Oct 2, while Yu Zhiying and Wu Yiming bagged a gold medal in the Go women's team event with two other Chinese players on Oct 3.
