Athletes from Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, secured six golds, two silvers and one bronze at the 19th Asian Games, which ended in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Oct 8.
China clinched 201 golds, 111 silvers and 71 bronzes, finishing atop the medal tally for the 11th consecutive edition since 1982 and bettering its previous record of 199 golds at Guangzhou 2010.

Wei Yi, a chess player, was the first Wuxi athlete to secure a gold medal, and Yu Zhiying and Wu Yiming won the first gold for the Chinese Go team in the women's team event with two other Chinese players.
Sun Huadong and Bao Yingfeng bagged China's first-ever Asian Games equestrian gold with their teammates, and Jin Weina and Luo Xinyu won the women's basketball gold with their teammates.

Two other golds were obtained by Cui Yang in taekwondo mixed team competition and Sui Gaofei in the men's 4x100 meters relay.
Zhu Lin as well as Xi Kailin, Chen Jia and Jiang Xinyue won silver medals in the tennis women's singles final and the women's softball final respectively while Cai Qi clinched a bronze in judo mixed team competition.
A total of 30 members from Wuxi participated in the Hangzhou Asian Games, including four coaches, four staff members, and 22 athletes.
